And then there were two...

So at one point we were up to six caterpillars. Six! One made itself into a chrysalis within the first day. Two were buried in a terrible grass avalanche, and then my students forgot to feed them this week so another one died. Now I believe there are only two left. It's really quite terrible.

On a happier note, last night was Back to School Night. The students wrote notes to their parents stating three reasons why "3rd grade is great so far." Mind you I checked the notes in front of the students beforehand, but one little boy wrote as reason number 3, "I think my teacher likes me." His parents got a kick out of that one. I guess it's open to interpretation.
